Las Vegas - Hotels & Casinos

Hotels: Anywhere else in the world hotels refer to a place to get some sleep, but not in Vegas my friends. Sin city is famous for its’ themed hotels and casinos- Caesar’s Palace, Monte Carlo, Wynn, New York New York, Treasure Island, The Luxor, The Palms, and Paris just to name a few. Many of the Las Vegas Hotels are themed, offering up fantasy lands replicating Italy, New York, Paris and Venice like nowhere else in the world. Combined with extravagant hotels, good food, exhilarating shows, and late night clubbing, Las Vegas has everything on one street.

LA2DAY'S Top 3 Las Vegas Hotels:

1) The Bellagio: This hotel is a four-time recipient of the AAA Five Diamond award ad is one of most luxurious Hotels in the World, offering Suite-Rooms only in congruence with the original Italian town of Bellagio alongside the Famous Como Lake shores (well, at least a small version of the lake). Especially unique are the water shows of the Fountains of Bellagio, performed every 15 minutes. Following the rhythm of many famous songs, the fountains will delight you with an amazing ballet of water. To get a better impression, take a look at the shots our cameraman took.

2) The Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino: The Parisian resort is actually a very good copy of Paris, France. In this version of the “city of lights,” you can hit the highlights in no time. As part of its architecture, the resort has detailed replicas of the Arc de Triomphe, Louvre façade, Paris Opera House and Hotel de Ville. And you certainly can't miss the 50-story, half-scale replica of the Eiffel Tower, now one of Las Vegas' most famous landmarks. You can even get up into the tower with an elevator and enjoy some of the views. On the way down, at the 11th floor, the Eiffel Tower Restaurant serves up a dining experience you'll never forget, including breathtaking views of the Strip.

3) The Venetian: The Architect Sheldon Adelson recreated the Italian city of Venice when he built the Venetian resort, hotel and casino featuring famous landmarks, winding canals and authentic gondolas. Behind the façade of the Doge's Palace, you'll find marble floors, hand-painted frescoes and plush furnishings surrounding a 120,000-square-foot casino modeled after the interior of a Venetian palazzo. The Venetian also houses an impressive art collection in its own Guggenheim Hermitage Museum, also known as the “Jewel Box,” and offers new exhibits every six to nine months from the permanent collections of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York and The State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Casinos: On March 19th 1911, gambling is legalized in the State of Nevada. One month later, the city of Las Vegas issues six gambling licenses. That was some 95 years ago! Today Las Vegas is the biggest Casino City in the World. Although the word gambling nowadays preferably (and understandably) is replaced with the word gaming, the excitement has grown drastically. Vegas, as we know it from the past, has been slowly morphed into a Disneyland for adults and locally revered to as the entertainment capitol of the World. Las Vegas, in fact, is much more then gaming. First of all, the Theme Hotels offer exclusive shopping, renowned art galleries, theme park like attractions, some of the best nightlife around, and last but not least, fantastic Las Vegas shows and top artist performances blow Broadway out of the water.

To enter a casino you need to be at least 21. Drinks are usually free when you participate in any gaming offered on the casino floor, but don’t forget to tip! Depending on the day of the week and the time of day, you will be able to participate in gaming for as little as $1 per game. Of course when you feel lucky, playing for as high as $10,000 per game is also optional. You will find the most interesting casinos inside hotels such as Bellagio, the Venetian, Paris, New York New York and Monte Carlo. Other casinos located off the strip or Downtown Las Vegas usually allow gaming for less. And of course all casinos offer a wide variety of slot machines that operate on 25 cents. To give you an idea, the Venetian casino floor already harbors 22,000 slot machines.

And if you still have money left on your way back to the Airport, don’t you worry. You’ll find money hungry slot machines every where at the Airport, from the restrooms to the gate area.
