Another One Bites the Dust

My my how easy it is to fall victim to the Venus shop trap of internet bargains. I am slave to credit card numbers, usernames, passwords, confirmation numbers and expiration dates. Christmas shopping is no longer a chore spent in the realm of long lines and angry cashiers, but rather an afternoon well spent browsing the latest fads on a neat little user friendly screen. At the click of a mouse not only can purchases be successfully made but they can be made from locations impossible to visit. From Bangkok to St. Petersburg, from Malaysia to San Trope the shopping possibilities are virtually endless.
In a nutshell cyberspace is one giant strip mall full of basically any and all things your little heart may desire. From one of a kind collector items to everyday knickknacks the internet is a one stop shop for any enthusiast or really anyone who wants something done quickly and effortlessly.
From rose petals, to break pedals, from groceries to accessories the line is never crossed over to unavailable for its quite clear that everything is available and ready for shipment upon request in the internet world.
Is there really a downfall or a negative when it comes to internet shopping? Perhaps overdoing can be a risk since it's so easy to rack up a bill when you are merely sitting in your easy chair armed with only your laptop and your credits card. There is of course the whole shipping and handling fiasco, the extra charges you pay just to have your little item shipped and then delivered right to you door. I sometimes think of that charge as the price I literally pay for the chair that I am sitting in and the mocha I am sipping on whilst I place my dandy little order. And then of course the mother of negatives is the waiting time between placing the order and actually having it in my possession. The anticipation, the delight; I guess it's almost a double edged sore of mixed superficial emotion.
But the benefits of online shopping far exceed the negative little add-ons. Think of the time you will save, and your gracious offer of the parking spot you would have used to another unfortunate "street" shopper who prefers to do it in the flesh. No more lines, no more fumbling with you wallet at the register when clearly your window of it being your turn has obviously expired. No more crowds to navigate through during the busy cattle like holiday seasons where it feels like the end is somehow near. It's a beautiful thing really, but remembers to keep it under control. For with every click of the mouse and every confirmation number a new transaction has taken place in your name. And just like all the rest before, another one bites the dust.
