The Hype: 3-Way at Apple Lounge

What happens when a hot, bombshell of a New York woman decides to open a club in LA? You get a hot, bombshell of a nightspot that speaks to the little Manhattan in all of us: Apple Lounge.

When Allison Melnick decided to bring a taste of her hometown, the Big Apple, to the West Coast club crowd, this WeHo nightclub was the perfect proposal. Putting years of her party girl promoting experience to the test, Melnick opened up the elite club for high rollers and hipsters alike.

With a star studded grand opening last month, Apple has since officially made its mark on the streets of West Hollywood. Lindsey and her "BFF" Sam, Robin Antin, Tila Tequila, and even Melnick's own BFF's Paris and Nicky came out to celebrate the launch of this exclusive club last month.

This past Saturday, I found myself clipboard to notepad with the city's toughest bouncer at the front of the city's most jaw droppingly chic line. I triumphantly made my way past the velvet ropes for a peek at what goes on inside the city's newest, most stylish three-in-one restaurant, bar, and lounge.

Nowadays, a simple dance floor just doesn't cut it, so Melnick decided to monopolize on her quest for a nightlife empire. Apple is encompassed not only by a sophisticated restaurant and a chic outdoor tasting cabana, but also includes a lucrative basement lounge area for club hoppers to get their drink on.

And while it's much smaller than I ever imagined (with a 150 max capacity in the underground section) the lounge manages to pack in a bar and DJ booth and keep it cozy, not smushed. As an ode to the Beatles, one of Melnick's faves, a red apple disco ball lights up the dimly lit basement and a flat screen projects retro style films across the room. Paparazzi pictures line the bathroom walls and red neon lighting emphasizes the NY disco theme.

Added bonus - Nikki Hilton designed the all-white waitresses uniforms herself.

On my expedient Saturday night out, I even managed to bump arms with Robin Antin, manager of the Pussycat Dolls and soon-to-be owner of the Pussycat Doll Lounge next door to Apple (look out for the new addition next month). After perusing around the tasteful restaurant upstairs, I walked down into the basement and was overcome by club goers getting their groove on.

Best drink at the bar? The Apple Martini Shot, served in an actual apple so you can munch on it later.

Apple Lounge is only open Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, adding that extra layer of elusive eliteness to guest list. if you're the type to sit back and observe at your own table, make sure to call ahead for bottle service.

This lounge is a great place to take a bite out of the Big Apple in style- if you're one of the gilded few granted entrance. Dress to the nines. you just might run into Lilo.
