The Hype: Midnight Ridazz Take the Party to the Streets.
By Autumn Schuster FOR LA2DAY.COM 07 Aug 2008

You may not know it, but right now, yes, at this very moment a group of
ragtag Angeleno cyclists is assembling to drink , smoke , and ride the mean streets of the smoggy city.
And though originally the group was only made up of six cyclists and two skateboarders roughing eighteen miles of urban terrain, the Midnight Ridazz has grown to include a fully interactive web site with more than 1300 riders.
The site features everything "MR," with group pics, future rides, forums, and the opportunity to start your own route in the "add a ride" section.
The ridazz are split into groups that raise bicycle visibility and cater to all sorts of interests with mobile communities like the Craft Club, Sexy Six pack Mondays, BFF Block Parties or even GOGA, a girls only group.
They have circuits all over LA, where crews inspire a bomb diggity party atmosphere and encourage new members with events before and after rides, with more than an occasional bar crawl thrown in.
Each bunch has a different vibe and meeting place with every rider abiding by the Midnight Ridazz belief of creating an amiable atmosphere where no mean-spirited, political, or abrasive peeps allowed. What the riders are all about is creating a multi-cultural family of fun cyclists that booze and schmooze it up occasionally.
Some groups are more hard-core than others, looking for serious riders with more experience to get a work-out, but other groups are for beginners looking to get a little something physical going.
A few events to look out for are the "Sins and Sprockets Ride" where 21+ riders can participate in a dice-roll contest with trophies and a concert/barbecue afterward. Another bike fiesta is the "Midnight Ridazz Pillow Fight II" where stealthy riders' pack pillows for a goose feathered throw-down.
If you're even half way contemplating rubbing elbows with a cycle and need a little motivation or camaraderie, consider a Midnight Ridazz near you. Bring the spunk and remember, when you hear "Midnight Ridazz!," you say "Ride
on!"
