Let Me Entertain You: American Teen
By Marisa Lynch FOR LA2DAY.COM 23 Jul 2008

Remember high school? This Friday go see Paramount Vantage's AMERICAN TEEN, a documentary set in Indiana focusing on a group of high schoolers and their angsty lives. Here are a bunch goodies to get you in the spirit.
Now a days, most teenagers have their own personal laptop computers and a bevy of other techie gadgets. Make sure they're kept safe with Incase's laptop sleeves in vivid colors perfect for all 17 year olds. Jake Tusing can carry his in a lime Neoprene sleeve while Megan Krizmanich can tote her Mac Book in a pink hardshell case while anxiously awaiting acceptance to Notre Dame.

As the innovations in mouth care continue to grow past just the swishing of fluoride, Tooth Tunes are the new, chic way to brush. Each toothbrush plays some of your favorite music as you brush your teeth. There is a song perfect for each teenager whether you're the high school nerd (DEVO), the drama queen (HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL), the cool girl (RHIANNA) or the rebel (KISS).

We were all slightly rebellious in high school, wouldn't you say? Artist Keri Smith created the perfect way to let all the aggression out in her ‘Wreck this Journal;' a journal that gives you page by page prompt on how to destroy it. Write it out and release it. Get it on amazon.com and then take a picture of you wrecking it and share it with the world here.

Facebook, YouTube and Ilike oh my! Stay with it with the social website tumblr.com. You can post personal blogs while keeping status updates going and going and going. Let your friends know when you pick out your prom dress, when you break up and make up with the BFF and of course when you get accepted to NYU. It's way better than Gossip Girl's text updates. XOXO

Whether you get an image of a basketball like Colin Clemens or Mitch Reinhold or a drama mask on the side of yours, a high school ring by Jostens is tradition across the country. Have fun choosing metals, picking stone colors and deciding whether you'll engrave your sweetheart's name inside of it. The one thing that you can count on remaining solid past graduation.
