IN GOD WE TRUST

Ben Stein steps into the shoes of Michael Moore as he travels the globe to find out what's the big deal about intelligent design. What is intelligent design? It's a theory that proposes creation... oops, I can't say that word... it's a theory that a Dude may have been responsible for the Big Bang and our DNA. And the Dude may or may not point to G.O.D. but it certainly conflicts with Darwin's natural selection theory.

Stein's Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed boldly goes where no man has gone before in his 90-minute documentary that is thought-provoking, funny, haunting, and pro-American. This is not another message endorsed by a religious fanatic. Stein doesn't even admit whether he is a believer or an atheist. But he challenges the academic system on the principles of free speech and thought. It's the very ideas that founded our nation and made it great. Stein exposes a conspiracy on a community of smart people being expelled, or fired, for merely stirring a discussion about the possibility of an intelligent design. No debate. Not even a slap on the hand. These smart people are labeled - religious terrorists.

If there is one thing Stein is best at doing, it is keeping a straight face. He's no dummy either. A class valedictorian from Yale Law School, he goes head to head with the universities, atheists, and fans of Darwin. In the end, he is just trying to break the invisible wall to allow people to freely speak their minds. He quotes, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness." Even though he didn't write the quote, we all know where it came from. Have we forgotten?

So what is my stance on evolution vs. intelligent design? Dude, come on... we all know the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything is 42.
