PANDORA'S BOX: LA2DAY'S Top Napoleon Perdis Product Picks

One-stop shopping is what made mega stores like Target and Amazon such successes. Killing two birds with a single stone is the busy girl's best friend when laundry detergent can be bought at the same time as a yoga mat and earrings. Wistfully we all wonder, what if a single makeup outpost could offer equally lust-able cleansers and eye shadows? LA's Napoleon Perdis, profiled in an LA2DAY article last week, has some definite winners in the game of got-it-all-covered cosmetics. MVPs include those that are multi-taskers, providing fixes to more than one of our beauty need

NP primer

Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Skin Primer:

Maximize your makeup with a base. Think of it as the base coat before the polish, the varnish before the stain. Designed to smooth and prep skin for foundation sponges and brushes, NP himself warns "not to prime is a crime." Even better than the clever rhyme is the silky sheer feel, vitamin E and chamomile extract.

Napoleon Perdis Marshamallow Foam

Marshmallow Foam:

We were sold as soon as we saw a puff of this cleanser's foam lift up fire truck red eye shadow swiped on our hand for a demonstration. The cleanser/remover can be used with or without water - spread a single pump over face and eyes and wipe or rinse off. Great for a sink-side spot, it really comes in handy for on-the-go makeup removal. No matter how on top of your A-game you are, everyone sometimes forgets to wash their face before hitting the gym or tanning salon.

Pro Palette Concealer

Pro Palette Concealer:

Just like no one beauty concern is the same as another, not all areas that need concealing are the same shade. This tri-colored tub gives you three options to ensure every trouble zone gets some help. The fawn color works for facial blemishes and dark circles, while bumps that might litter tanner décolleté get some coverage with the darker espresso shade. Our eureka moment came when we realized that the light taupe color works wonders as a highlighter when applied directly under the eyebrow.

NP Luminzer Palette

Light Patrol Luminizer Palette:

"Lots of uses" and "easy to toss in the bag" are qualifications for any makeup we begin a relationship with. NP's Luminizer Palette must've heard what we need, because it's got all the right moves. Five different shades (gold, silver, bronze, rose and pink ice) are light with just enough sheen and protect with vitamins, aloe vera and SPF 8. We think gold and bronze work on the eyes, while rose highlights cheek bones and pink ice sits pretty on the apple area. It's light enough to not look too made up and gives you a fresh glow all over. Easy to apply with just a fingertip, it's a single compact that can go miles when you want light makeup for the beach or need a quick fix in the car when running late.
