HEALTH & BEAUTY BLACK BELTS: Kris Carr... Kicking Ass and Taking Names

What would you do if at 31 years old, living large as an actress /photographer, you found yourself in an oncologist office, hearing the words, and "You have a rare form of cancer. It is not treatable nor is it curable"? When Kris Carr found out she had 25 ‘beauty spots' on her liver and lungs, a disease with a name that would challenge a Rhodes scholar to pronounce (Epithelioid Hemangioendothelioma, say that 3 times fast!), she made a choice to kick some cancer ass.

She turned out to be quite the ass-kicker. Like a one-woman tornado, she tore through every alternative healing treatment all the while filming it, baring her soul and inspiring millions.

Kris Carr on Oprah

‘Genius means little more than the faculty of perceiving in an unhabitual way.'

William James (1842-1920)

Flash forward five years and Kris is ready to release her second book ‘Crazy Sexy Cancer Survivor: More Rebellion and Fire for Your Healing Journey', writes a popular blog crazysexycancer.com, launched the ‘My Crazy Sexy Life' forum, has appeared on Oprah and numerous TV talk shows. It that's not enough, her dvd documentary ‘Crazy Sexy Cancer' is available in stores (put it in your Netflix que NOW!), her first book ‘Crazy Sexy Cancer Tips' is selling millions of copies and she just completed the first Crazy Sexy Boot Camp Workshop at the Crossroads in Austin Texas. Oh, and the cute cameraman on her documentary became her hubby!

Kris Carr is one busy cancer cowgirl! In case you were wondering, her last scan was her best yet. The cancer is not progressing. It's just sitting there- which is a very, very good thing. Currently, Kris is plotting and scheming to have Crazy Sexy Wellness Support possees all over the planet. Last month the NYC Crazy Sexy branch had it's first meeting. It was a huge success.

She has a unique outlook, I'll let her tell you all about it:

"Yeah, so I've got some tumors. Big whoop! I don't let it stop me; I let it inspire me. We all got somethin'. A crappy diagnosis, major life lemons and general Sh#t happens to folks every darn second. What WE do is our rebelliously liberating response. Slip into the drivers seat! My choice was to make a total lifestyle upgrade inside and out, to go back to nature, the garden, my meditation pillow and to the people who mean the most. Once I did (especially with dietary changes) I started to feel better than ever. The clarity, empowerment, and sense of connection to my spirit cracked my Heart wide open. Quite simply, my diagnosis created a personal revolution."

When you visit crazysexylife.com, you will notice that there are nearly 2000 members even though the site is only a few months old. Thing is, there are many people who have a burning desire to be healthier, to feel better, to jump on the bandwagon that Kris is driving, laughing (and sometimes crying ) all the way. From yoga, to juicing, from how to get a colonic, to holistic animal care and environment issues, all topics are covered and no wellness stone is left unturned. Kris has called herself a ‘healing junkie' and obviously whatever she is doing is working its mojo. Not just for her, but for all the people lucky enough to find her.

Go see her. You will be hooked. You may just become a healing junkie yourself.
