Offering a placid and improbable calm in the middle of bustling Santa Monica Blvd, Euphoria's subtle garden inspired sanctuary is home to an array of top notch face and body treatments. With a selectively superb menu of balancing, express, and anti-aging facials, massages, and waxing options the spa is not short of options. Yet, the focus is clearly on quality over quantity.

What makes Euphoria special- though I hate to sound like a new agey fruitcake- is its energy. Unassuming and glowing with goodwill, feel good, and goodies, the spa places a rare emphasis on you as a person. Sure, you can expect to be pampered anytime you walk into any old spa. At Euphoria, however, you can expect to be welcomed. Asked about your day, your feelings, your thoughts. You may even get a hug!

This awareness, which originates no doubt with loving owners Steven and Gabriella, extends past the incredibly warm greeting. While they offer a creative menu with tempting options such as the ( two hour!) Red Carpet Rejuvenation offering all the bells and whistles, my experience suggests that the spa has one facial, one massage, one wax: Your own. After an initial consultation with your technician, your treatment is designed for you depending on your body and skin needs. Perfection.

My Personal Experience...

I enter Euphoria, feeling generally frazzled. Meet Steven, the gentle and receptive owner who fills my thirsty water glass continuously as we chat about how I am doing.

Introduced to Antoan, my massage technician. Antoan just so happens to be the former masseuse for the Bulgarian Olympic team. Handsomeness and strong hands noted. Escorted into a relaxing interior room and consulted for a good while on the state of my battered body. Bunker down under the softest, snuggliest blanket. Massage begins: Bliss, bliss, pain(in a good way), utter bliss. Right shoulder knot duly destroyed....Hallelujah! Realization that this may be the best massage I've ever had. Subsequent desire to propose to Antoan resisted. Massage draws to a close: desire not to cry and beg for more barely resisted.

Slip into luxurious robe and slippers to go meet Anna, who procedes to give my skin the rejuvenation of its life, beginning with a customized deep cleanse and a tingly enzyme peel. Frightened by alien-looking zapping wand, but reassured that it helps prevent infection after the extraction process. Delightfully soothed by a chamomile clay mask, shoulder, and neck massage. Sweet smelling oxygen puffed onto skin, followed by a luscious serum.

Mirror provided. Shock and awe. Suspicion that I may have been knocked out while a baby's bottom was grafted onto my face. Acceptance of that possibility for trade off: most touchable skin of a lifetime. Leave in a happy daze, full of gratitude and plotting my next visit.

After such an enlightening experience, it's hard not to be converted to the leagues of die-hard Euphoria fans. Happily, you can take a little piece of it home with the spas own Kamamyl product line.
