Mama Gets a Makeover: The Gavert Atelier Salon Revamps Anyone’s Look On the Go

There is nobody I know that works harder than my Mother. I may not have been able to admit that a few years ago, but as the truth creeps up on all of us, there is always a time to give back to the one person who needs and deserves it the most. At the Gavert Atelier Salon in Beverly Hills, the month of May was all about revitalizing your look on the move, as they hosted an On the Go Beauty Event for all in need of some major R and R.

After raising me, an exhausting job in itself, and working day in and day out, I thought it best to give my darling mom a makeover that she would never forget. Massages, brow fixers, manicurists, hair stylists, and a champagne toast made it a makeover that would go down in the record books - taking one tired puppy on a journey from drab to fab in high style.

After a few glasses of the bubbly the moms and I made our way from station to station (her mouth watering at every stop), starting first at Mistura Cosmetics who combined 6 products into one shimmering, outstanding blush. One stroke of the Miracle Match Colour Blend, that apparently compliments any skin tone from light to dark, and her whole face lit up. After a manicure from the girls at OPI and a neck massage that couldn't have made her smile more, the last step was hair. The team at Gavert Atelier took my tired, hard working mom from fizzled out to fabulous within seconds. Her usual poofy pony was gone in the blink of an eye, as she walked out of the chair with a bouffant up- do and blow out. With a snazzy little up-do of my own to match, I finally felt like I prevailed and gave her something to outdo the annual coffee mug gifting sessions we usually endure.

While my mother chatted it up with the folks at Adonia Organics testing out their bronzers and Nine Minute Anti-Cellulite Serum (which by the way I have been religiously using on my behind area and can see the smoothness already), I chatted with Caridee English on her tanning woes. A little on the orange side that day, the model told me, "Don't use too much bronzer. That's my tip because I'm learning it right now. Instead, I use Lorac Tantalizer. It's a body lotion that makes the skin glow and shimmer."

Not that Tyra's prodigy didn't give good advice, but Jason Biggs and his wife Jenny Mollen took the cake that evening. Taking the atypical approach to keeping dry during the heat, Mr. American Pie exclaimed, "I powder my balls more than usual during the summer. I use powder on my crotch region. Specifically, I use Vagisil. It's a talc free powder and it feels really nice down there."

So, although I may not be trying feminine products on my private parts anytime soon, the On the Go event not only gave my momma the rejuvenating boost she needed, but clued me into some first hand summer beauty tips and products.
