Hammitt Los Angeles was born in 2003 from a girl's need (and desire) to have the chicest handbag at a BBQ in Beverly Hills. The infamous clutch created and worn that day by Stef Hammitt, the designer and namesake behind the brand resulted in a complete collection of classic and cool handbags in a variety of shapes and sizes.

Rewind to months prior to the luxe lunch date, Stef was helping a friend re-work his belt collection, when along the way she discovered her passion for fashion and more specifically, design. The materials, hardware, production and introduction into the world of leather, opened new doors for her creatively and allowed her to pursue her own designs.

While the fashion world was not unknown to this former model who worked the runways internationally in Japan and France before becoming a wardrobe stylist, the design aspect was a new venture that Stef embraced. Admittedly self-taught, Stef says she is an organic designer and uses her hands to create her vision through her sketches.

Hammitt Los Angeles features the most luxurious Italian leathers in gorgeous shades including brandy and cognac. Other materials include croc suede and cobra snake patent. The wearable shapes in the Westwood and Brentwood collection are among the most popular styles and all feature the signature rivet detailing. The result?
