We Love: Target's GO International
By Leah Melby FOR LA2DAY.COM 05 Aug 2008

The Target GO International collaboration is a fashion fairytale that has brought together everyone's favorite mass retailer with design darlings such as Erin Fetherston and Proenza Schouler. Just as there are great, wonderful partnerships and marriages that inspire us, teach us, fill our souls with joy; love stories that make even the most cynical believe and twosomes that go down in history, so too is GO.
Target GO International brings fashion names to the dinner table and affordable prices to the closet. Smiley and bubbly Isaac Mizrahi was one thing but Luella Bartley and Libertine? It's officially getting hard to determine who wears the pants in these relationships. And now Richard Chai is the twelfth designer to consummate the marriage.
We already loved Target for a plethora of reasons - ease of shopping, cheerful red-shirted employees, the $1 section near the front of the store - but nothing claims a part of our heart more than the GO International set. Its popularity has decreed official unveilings and presales at Barneys (where the snobbish set, uneasy navigating the ranks with a four-wheeled shopping buggy, can sip champagne and buy before the mad rush).
Love for Target's GO International collections spans all classes and knows no boundaries.
We eagerly anticipate each new designer and stalk out strategies for finding key pieces in regular sizes (so anything bigger than a 0 and smaller than a 14.) In our relationship with GO International, we have to play our cards right or we can kiss sure-to-be popular pieces good-bye. We know healthy couples shouldn't play games but let's face it - not every couple is as idyllic as Target and its designers.
