Los Angeles Fashion, LA Shopping, Designer and Boutique reviews

We Love: Forever 21

They say money doesn't make you happy...but saving money sure does. No matter how prosperous or penniless you are, saving as little as a dollar can brighten your entire day. People love it when they get a good deal. And if you are reading this, then I can assume that you love fashion as well. Unfortunately, the current weakening economy has us fashionistas having to choose between that beautiful Diane von Furstenberg dress and our monthly food supply. Most of us are not fortunate enough to afford both high-end fashions and food. But there is a way that you can be fly, fierce, and fabulous without spending an uneconomic amount of money. All fashionistas-on-a-budget understand that Fashionable + Economical = Forever 21.

During LA2DAY's Fashion Budget Week, we decided to feature this ever-so-popular retail giant because it has the best of both worlds; great fashion and even greater prices.

What is the allure of Forever 21? Aside from the obvious affordable prices, they have the best knockoff designer items you can find. We're not talking about those cheesy bootleg Gucci bags that actually read "GO," we mean the almost exact designer match. Some of the items from Forever 21 are so dead on, that it should be a crime (or may be a crime in some cases).

For instance, take a look at the Chloe booties (left) which retail for $800 compared to the Forever 21 booties (right) that can be purchased for $28.

And check out this $1150 Jonathan Saunders dress (left) and the $23 version from Forever 21 (right).

Of course there are differences in fabric and stitching that separate the high-end designer items from that of Forever 21. Luckily, we don't care about all that. We rather take our chances shopping at Forever 21 with a full belly than shop at Barneys with hunger pains.
