Los Angeles Fashion, LA Shopping, Designer and Boutique reviews

The Melrose Trading Post

Venturing into the city you will find a wide range of shopping experiences. For a one of a kind unique trip like no other you must check out the famous Flea Markets and swap meets that Los Angeles has to offer. The flea market of yesteryear once a junk fest for only the brave now has evolved into the hippest place to shop in the city. Finding one of a kind pieces and undiscovered talents is the new treasure hunting. Now who doesn’t like a treasure or better yet a bargain? Vintage and Collectables mixed with new and established fashion designers is the true eclectic shopping style of Southern California.

The Melrose Trading Post is truly the crème de la crème of LA’s hottest up and coming designers and artists. Now showcasing over 200 eclectic vendors it continues to be a spot close to many angelinian hearts. When you are looking to find that one of kind piece that complements any outfit, home, or maybe that little piece of Hollywood history this is the HOT spot.

Being in central Hollywood, the mart brings the true elitist of fashionistas, celebs, Hollywood collectors and style mavens. The post is a great people watching experience that continues to surprise with the constant celebrity sightings. Seeing the likes of Miss Misha Barton and the loveable Olsens was quite refreshing on my last trip. These girls are setting the trends for tomorrow by mixing looks of yesterday with the rising designers of the future, Brilliant!

Voted the Best Swap Meet year after year the Trading Post continues to help form and define the cutting edge urban style that has made LA’s signature look so prevalent in the fashion world of today.

Melrose Trading Post is the most successful ongoing fundraiser for the Los Angeles unified School District. Greenway Arts Alliance a local theatre company in conjunction with Fairfax High School 8 years ago teamed up to promote community growth, child education and betterment. The 2.00 fee for entrance and the concessions helps this amazing local cause.

The sexy hip shopping atmosphere of Melrose Trading post is fascinating and entertaining. While taking a look at unique booth’s such as Famous Artists Jim Varketta, Miguel Torres, Zoe and Sage, Gem-MC, and others enjoy the perfectly appropriate soundtrack of a live Jazz band playing some good ol’ times music.

It can’t get any better than tossing back a hot dog while checking out some of LA’s most eccentric pieces of art, antiques, and fashion. Long time vendors make it a warm atmosphere filled with great conversation, laughs and bargains galore.
