Questionnaire: The Bikini Clad Clowns

Police officers smiled with convivial glee at the sight of three gorgeous lasses prancing round Venice Beach in nothing but bikinis and clown make-up. They were asked if they'd like to see the permit - mere formalities - they were more interested in the girls. Old men stood with jaws agape, their trousers simulating a hit of Viagra whilst children looked on cautiously, confused and melancholy.

A debauched circus had been brought to town via Laugh, Clown, Laugh, and the three leading ladies took it all in stride, professional through-and-through, casting off notions of oogling gawkers, ready to laugh it up for our cameras. And when the make-up and swimwear came off and Venice Beach went back to normal (if you can call it that), the three lovely ladies, tall and beautiful, charming and cool, these three ladies, Sarah M. Hilker, Monique van Son and Lulu Zhang sat down to answer our Questionnaire and discuss Bowie, Victorians and a love of lace.

Monique van Son

Who is the most stylish person in the world?
MONIQUE: David Bowie. I love that man through and through. Hot, hot, hot.

SARAH: The Olsen Twins.

Who is the most stylish person in history?
LULU: Jackie Kennedy

Who is the least stylish person in history?
SARAH: George W. Bush

Who is the most stylish person you've met?
MONIQUE: Som Wardner of My Vitriol. No matter what he wears he just looks stunning...purrrr. Must be the eyes. Meet the lad in a club and you'll see what I mean.

Lulu Zhang

If you were to give the world a make-over, how would you style it?
LULU: In black and white - classic beauty.

In which period of history do you think people dressed the best?
SARAH: I really love the Victorian period .

In which period of history do you think people dressed the worst?
MONIQUE: Not a big fan of the 90s. I mean, come on people, look at your 90s pics. Did you look cool?!

What is your favourite article of clothing?
LULU: Corsets - but I'm too flat to make it look pretty on me - and lace - everything and anything lace - I love LACE!!!!

Sarah M. Hilker

What is your least favourite article of clothing?
SARAH: That's a hard one. Probably panties or jewelry, if that counts.

What are you wearing right now?
LULU: Disneyland 45th anniversary t-shirt with cool colored vertical stripe pajama pants.

What do you wish you were wearing right now?
MONIQUE: Nothing. Don't blame me, it's hot in here!

Is there one item that has gone out of style that you wish would come back?
SARAH: I can't really think of an item, but I do miss the 80s androgyny.

Is there one item that is in style that you wish would go out?
LULU: Long Faded Denim, VANISH & NEVER REVIVE!

Are you afraid of Anna Wintour?
MONIQUE: Nah, everyone gets frustrated once in a while; the phase just lasts longer for some. Maybe she should spend more time in California where people teach you to "f*$@ing relax"!
