Moving Forward with Fashion on Broadway: Fremont S/S 2010 Collection

Centered on bringing the industry around the corner, LA Fashion on Broadway debuted at the Baroque-inspired Los Angeles Theatre October 14-15, 2009, vying toward reviving the historic Broadway corridor.
The two-day event, floating between the theater's lobby, auditorium, and ballroom, exhibited Spring/Summer 2010 Collections from leading local designers David Alexander, Mike Vensel, Future Heretics and closer Fremont.
Fremont designers Devin Carlson and Brittany Pham unveiled the contemporary mens and womenswear line's 24 newest ready-to-wear looks at the finale show.

With a backdrop provided by a jazz ensemble, models nimbly trekked through the grand ballroom in bold safari colors and classic cuts. Inspired by 1920's big game hunting, the collection streamlines lavish sensibility with minimalist aesthetics.
"The [collection's] color story came together when I looked through my mother's safari pictures from the late 60's when she was flying with Pan Am," explains Carlson. "I was consumed by the brilliant display of colors."

The design duo met through mutual friends and has been constructively collaborating since 2006. With a background in advertising and creative design, Carlson started his own line after graduating college, selling by appointment only at the time. Looking to take his talents to the next level, he found his creative partner in Pham, whose trysts with fashion began in the sewing room when she was exposed to apparel manufacturing at an early age by her parents.

Carlson and Pham dive heavily into the 1910-1920's lifestyle of hunting for luxury and living for the hunt. Capitalizing on their signature lightweight luxury, the pair creates looks ripe for the daily indulger.

A true craftsman, Carlson transforms lightness into lucent linens
seen on button-down shirts and rolled-up pants and shorts. Fine and seamless silk basics are almost too dapper for daily wear.

Pham paints sultry silks with bold blushing colors. Head scarves and open-front mini-cardigans are revived as staple pieces for gallivanting. Proving fit is foremost, rompers and shorts sit slyly around tender waists.

A collection fit for "anyone looking to get away from the clutter and refine [his or her] everyday life," Fremont, present with rationale and a vintage vision toward the future, is simply the cleanest line from this season's LA Fashion Week.
