And The Best F'in Burger in LA is...

HOLE IN THE WALL

Aptly named, this little gem is snugly tucked away but wholly worth the search.

At last! A place that captures both the origins and the evolution of America's favorite backyard snack. Owners Susan McAlindon and Chef Bill Dertouzos create an incredibly friendly, casual vibe at this tidy little al fresco burger joint. You could easily be at your next door neighbors' summer bbq...especially if your next door neighbor is a master chef, keen on paying homage to detail and homemade freshness.

Lush, leafy lettuce and sparkling ruby tomato look like they were just plucked from the garden. Ketchup, chipotle & onion mayos, and sweet zucchini pickles are all made by hand, as is most everything here. Both the angus and turkey burgers are Chef Bills' own special blend and bursting with juicy flavor. Options are not as expansive as the some of our other winners, but we found ourselves incredibly relieved by this. Any absences are readily forgiven by the genuine effort and love served with each hearty helping.

Please, please DON'T MISS: The pretzel bun! It will add a new dimension to any burger. (All buns are made fresh daily by the legendary Dolce Forno.) We also loved the turkey burger an inordinate amount.
