Savant Guide: Phantasmagoric Holiday Art Sale
"Going, going, gone!" seems to be the running theme over at Otis College of Art and Design this week, where you can stock up on student art and catch the tail end of a truly trippy showing.
In the Ben Maltz Gallery is Phantasmagoria, a site-specific installation by one of Otis' most famous alumni, Mark Dean Veca. And it looks as though the exhibition will run its course on December 6th. This is definitely worth skipping out of work early for a little day trippin'.
While you're there, take advantage of cheap student art that may be worth a hell of a lot more down the road. This mild form of exploitation, known as the Holiday Art Sale, is one of the best ways to beef up your art collection and spare your wallet, not to mention score some swag for Christmas gifts. Ceramics, paintings, jewelry, and yes, even dog collars. Wee-yah! Something for the whole family!
