LA2DAY Goes Tripping the Art Fantastic at Mr. Musichead

Let's face it, most art shows are boring. You're forced to choke down free booze and a supermarket cheese tray while trying to find something nice to say about a piece or two before you slink out the door, trying to avoid both the artists and their thousand-dollar price tags.
Lucky for you, Mr. Musichead Gallery is hosting a show called "Tripping the Art Fantastic: The Illustrated Works of Alan Aldridge," which breaks all conventions.
We went to a reception last night featuring the "Man With Kaleidoscope Eyes" himself, and picked up some signed copies of his book. We saw an elderly woman crush a plastic wine glass with her bare hands and spill wine all over the walls. We moved from the Psychedelic Macca & John Lennon pictures and into the screening room where Alan's work is transformed into a visual feast for the eyes and ears, all set to the sounds of Pink Floyd. We ate delicious food from Cheebo, drank something called Tito's vodka, and talked with Sam Milgrom, the friendly gallery owner. We even saw Cheri Oteri (from SNL) and Brandon Boyd (Incubus), a talented artist in addition to singer/songwriter.

There's something here for everyone, whether you buy anything or not (prints start around $100), and it should definitely be high on your to-do list.
Now get cracking. Just tell them that LA2DAY sent you.
