Downtown LA Art Walk: Shifting Mass and the Makepeace Brothers

Every second Thursday of the month, the Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk is held in the Gallery Row neighborhood. As the daylight holds off the darkness for such a long time during these months, we might as well enjoy it. We're going to head down tomorrow and check things out, and here are two reasons why you should too.

Shifting Mass
We saw David Phillips' work on display at the Create:Fixate show back in the wintertime. His pieces stood out because they brought a sense of beauty and danger in the same place. This guy is definitely not painting a boring landscape or a bowl of fruit. His work will be shown once again in the Shifting Mass show, along with those of David Jang and Shon Kim. We can't wait!

The Makepeace Brothers

We first met up with these talented musicians from Ithaca, New York when they performed at the Hotel Cafe with LA2DAY favorite Kevin Kinsella. They had us dancing by the end of their set, and had enough personality between them to fill the place. Fresh off their performance at Venice First Fridays, they're back again with their unique brand of acoustic tunes and chilled-out harmonies.
